I was born and raised in Corner Brook and reside in Humber East in my childhood home with my husband Cory Kane, two teenage daughters, Meteghan and Caradyn, and Alfredo the Bearded Dragon.
A broadcast journalist by trade, I have worked in the media, both radio and television, since the mid -1990s. Presently, I work in Public Relations for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and, until recently was the host of my own radio program on BayFM. Many years ago, I hosted the Roger’s Television program “Swap Shop” and co-hosted the K-Rock radio morning show.
I am very passionate about Corner Brook, and being an active participant in the community is very important to me. Presently, I sit on the Board of Directors for Bay FM radio. Until recently, I sat on the Corner Brook Intermediate Student Council and NAPE Local 1104 Executive as Treasurer, Vice President, and member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ committee. My other past volunteer experience includes Eastside Elementary Home and School Association Co-Chair; Theatre Newfoundland Labrador Board of Director; Heart and Stroke Foundation Canvasser; Western Sno-Riders Race on the Rock announcer, and Children’s Wish Foundation Telethon Co-host.
