Sherry Dean

Hi, I’m Sherry Dean – wife, mom, grandmother, retired nurse, and self-proclaimed treehugger. After decades caring for people as a Registered Nurse, I’m ready to take that same energy, compassion, and problem-solving to City Hall.

I’ve worn a lot of hats in our community: former Qalipu Band Council Representative, past Chair of the Qalipu Cultural Foundation, and now founding member and Chairperson of Elmastukwek Mawio’mi Inc. Through all of it, I’ve stayed grounded in Indigenous culture and values, and committed to building a city that’s welcoming and inclusive for everyone.

I’m also a disability advocate, a wellness advocate, and a proud ally of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Basically, if it’s about making life healthier, fairer, or kinder—I’m in.

When I’m not at a meeting or volunteering, you’ll probably find me in my garden, composting like it’s an Olympic sport, or talking to my tomato plants (they’re great listeners).

I love Corner Brook, and I believe we can grow it into an even more vibrant, sustainable, and supportive community. If you’re looking for a councillor who works hard, cares deeply, and doesn’t mind rolling up her sleeves—vote Sherry Dean on October 2nd!
