Donna Luther

 

Donna Luther RN Retired 11 years ago from her nursing position at Western Health, Where she spent most of her career in Management roles specializing in Mental Health.

Retiring did not stop her, after spending a year at home she decided that watching soap operas was not for her.

She then proceeded to work at the NL 811 Health line, taught PCA program and is currently Director of Xavier House, personal care home for people living with mental illness.

She served two terms on Corner Brook city council (2005-2013) where she enjoyed learning about politics and how the city runs.

Community involvement has been part of her life for many years, some rolls include being past chair of winter carnival 2025, presently vice president of winter carnival inc. Vice chair of John Howard Society and western representatives on the Council of Registered Nurses of NL

She was honored this past year to be awarded:
-The confederation 75th Medal
-The King Charles 111 Coronation medal for her work in mental health
Some of her plans for the city if elected include :
-to start a committee to understand the issues with anyone starting a new build or starting a new business in corner brook
-to involve key people/organizations to explore the growing issue of homelessness in our city.
